These One Minute Money Tip videos are pretty self-explanatory.  They are videos that last one minute and are full of money tips. From November 16th to December 14th I will post a new Money Tip video with some simple, helpful and fun financial tips. But that’s not all. At the end of each week I will post a question on social media about the Money Tip video.  If you answer the question correctly, you will have the chance to win a gift card! Michigan First believes in helping young people achieve their dreams. Over the past nine years we have awarded more than $650,000 in scholarships to deserving Michigan students with big dreams! This year, the Young & Free Michigan Scholarship program offers more scholarships for more students! High school seniors and current college student ages 17 to 25 are eligible to apply.*

Top scholarships

 $10,000, $5,000 and $3,000 will be awarded in three categories: 

Plus up to 30 more $1,000 scholarships may be awarded to qualifying high school seniors.  

Here’s what you need to do to enter

  1. Read the official rules.
  2. Choose one category that best applies to you and complete the application form.  
  3. Include your video or essay answering this question: "Other than paying for your education, what would you do with $50,000?" Share your dreams with us!
  4. Entry deadline is Noon, February 12, 2013.
  5. Get your family, friends and everyone you know to vote February 13 to 19, 2013.

It’s up to you to campaign and get enough votes to be one of the 10 finalists in each category who will move on to the judging round. The judges will determine the top three scholarship winners in each category.

That’s right, Janelle is cruising across all of southeastern Michigan as she spreads entertainment and wisdom across the land, and if you see it, you can WIN a gift card!

When you see the Young & Free Michigan Cruzer, simply follow the texting instructions located below the license plate. That’s it--you’ll be automatically entered to win!

Official Rules

  • Beginning 12:01 a.m. on June 1, 2011 and ending at 11:59 p.m. on July 31, 2011, then every successive two-month period thereafter (see chart below), one entry can be earned to win a $20 gift card by texting the code written on the back of the Young & Free Michigan Cruzer to the number also written on the back of the car.
  • Drawing will be held by August 5, 2011, and by the first full-week-Friday following each bimonthly drawing period thereafter (see chart below).
  • Need not be present to win.
  • Prize structure: One (1) gift card valued at $20.
  • Winner will be contacted by a Michigan First Credit Union representative within 24 hours of the drawing
  • Failure to claim prize within four months of the drawing date will result in forfeiture of the prize, which shall become the property of Michigan First Credit Union  
  • Winners must present valid photo identification to claim their prize.
  • Michigan First Credit Union Management will verify winning entry and award prize.
  • Acceptance of a prize constitutes the participant’s approval to all of Michigan First Credit Union’s publicity and advertising rights.
  • All entries are non-transferable and void if copied, torn, mechanically altered or mutilated in any way.
  • Entries have no cash value.
  • One win per person per household per year.
