I finally got my laptop back after a week without it! And now I feel like I have so much catching up to do that I can hardly focus!
Do you ever feel like you are stuck? You have a million things to do but can't seem to focus on one? What do you do that helps? I'll tell you a few things that I usually do;
1. Take a short break. Get up from your work space and take a walk, grab a glass of water. It can really help clear your head.
2. Change your work space. This one is the best tip for me! I don't always work well in my cube, but if I move to the couch in the lobby of the office, or head to the library, or Panera I know that I will get everything done on my to do list.
3. Make a list. There's something empowering about checking things off of a list. I can't explain it. Making a list will help you focus on one thing at a time rather than the 10 things that need to be done!
4. Treat-Yo-Self. I love to set a timer, or a small goal. Then, once the time is up or the goal is complete, I treat myself to a short Facebook break, or a yummy coffee. Kind of how children are enticed to clean or eat their veggies, "One more bite and then you get ice cream..." And yes, sometimes I have to actually tell myself, just one more then I can get my coffee.
Remember to look at every day with a fresh pair of eyes. Think about what needs to be done and challenge yourself to finish faster and better than you did yesterday! I know my tomorrow will be better than today. I'm so excited about all of the videos I get to edit tomorrow!
I love getting things accomplished. Having goals, and working hard to exceed those goals is something we should all strive for!
