The Golden Age of Video Games

Simple but so Addicting...

If there is one thing that our generation is known for, it’s our familiarity with video games.  Video games today are everywhere we turn.  From fancy game counsels to computers and even our phones it’s extremely hard to escape them.  It’s funny though how despite all the fancy technology, some of the most addicting games are also the simplest ones.  These include, Angry Birds, Words with Friends and even Draw Something.  These games are so popular because unlike many of the hit games made for Xbox 360 and PS3, they are WAY cheaper and require very little time commitment.  You can pick up a game on your phone, play it for 3 or 4 minutes and then simply turn it off.
This style of gaming is not a new concept though.  Some of you may be familiar with 90’s games such as, Chip’s Challenge, Minesweeper and SkiFree!  Like the phone apps today, these games were excellent because you could play them for a few minutes and have the option to opt out without loosing hours of campaign progress.  For today’s blog I wanted to feature a video clip of Chip’s Challenge.  Not only was this one of my favorite games growing up, but it also required a simple but immense amount of strategy.  With out further adieu, I give you the final level of Chip’s Challenge!

Check it out!

Until next time!
