Happy New Year! Can you believe it’s 2017?! I had such an amazing holiday season. I spent it with family and friends. We had a blast playing games, going to the movies, shopping, eating, and doing whatever else we do. I just love the holidays and the time it gives me at the end of the year to enjoy life and reflect.
There’s also something very special about the new year and having a clean slate. I’m so excited to see what 2017 has to offer.
I decided that instead of just writing my goals down on a piece of paper, I’d write them in a planner, forcing me to actually plan how I’d reach them. A few days before New Year’s Day I went to Michael’s in search for my new planner. I’m always in there because I do lots of DIYs and I ran across their planners a few weeks back. The price sticker said $29.99 and I turned the other way. But it was really cute, thorough, and looked like something I’d enjoy opening on a daily basis. So, I went back to get the planner and it was on sale for over 50% off! Only $12.49.
I’m thrilled to begin planning out this year, while also taking advantage of spontaneous opportunities. A few things I plan on changing in my daily routine:
- Read more by completing one book of choice per month.
- Spend less money on lunch by packing a lunch at least three times a week.
- Focus on my haves instead of my have-nots by starting a gratitude journal (writing five things I’m grateful for at the end of every day.)
- Saving more money! I’m excited to scale way back on spending. I was extremely motivated by this article, and plan to participate. Uber Frugal Month: The Ultimate Guide to Saving More Money than You Ever Thought Possible
What are some of your tangible goals for the year? And how do you plan to reach them?
