Random Acts of Kindness
“The sweetest thing I've ever heard is that I don't have to have the answers, just a little light to call my own. Though it pales in comparison to the overarching shadows, a speck of light can reignite the sun and swallow darkness whole.”
- Emphasis, Sleeping at Last
It may sound corny, but it only takes a spark to start an entire forest fire. In the same way, one act of kindness can spread from person to person until the entire world has changed.
Today’s the kickoff of Random Acts of Kindness for the month of July.
This entire month, I’ll be making it a point not to let kindness get lost in the day-to-day.
And I’d like for you to join me.
There are plenty of moments throughout the day where we’re given the opportunity to be kind to one another. Every interaction we have with someone else impacts his or her life more than we could ever realize.
We can change the entire world one act of kindness at a time. When we act in love, we really can make the world a better place.
We are the youth of the generation. Our actions matter. This July is our chance to make this world a brighter place.
I’ll be sharing daily acts of kindness on Twitter, Facebook and our website.
If you want to inspire others as well, please share an act of kindness you demonstrated or someone else demonstrated toward you. You can also share stories, pictures, or people who act in kindness. Feel free to post on any of our sites, as well as to email me.
Fitting in perfectly with acts of kindness is today's Music Monday song: Emphasis by Sleeping at Last. He sings about how we can change the world with our lights in dark places.
Sleeping at Last is an Alternative Rock band with the sole member Ryan O'Neal. His songs have been featured in T.V. shows such as Private Practice, Grey's Anatomy and Bones.
If I had a T.V. show I'd feature his music too; I can’t even put into words how much his song Emphasis touches my heart. There was not a better song to start Random Acts of Kindness off with. Simply said, this song is beautiful and inspiring. You've GOT to listen for yourself.
Together can light a dark world,
