Mobile Banking

If you’re anything like me, a tiny bit forgetful and a little bit of a shopaholic, you may have found yourself asking this question, “how much money do I have in my account?”

Jumping around from store to store doesn’t always leave time to physically come into a branch. And buying new clothes, food and going out with friends adds up faster than we can even say, “I have to make a pit stop at my credit union.”

Heck, you might not even be at home, close to a branch or near a computer to keep up-to-date with your spending. Being aware of how much money you have in your account is pretty important. If you are unaware, you can easily spend WAY MORE than what you have, ending up with tons of overdraft fees.

And that’s where mobile banking comes in handy.

For example, a few months ago when I was waiting in line at a store, practically in the middle of the woods, I had NO idea how much I had in my account. And I really didn’t feel like getting an overdraft. I was nowhere near an ATM or computer. So I pulled out my cellphone to check my balance. It was a good thing I had enough money and was able to buy what I wanted, but if I had been short in my account and didn’t realize it, I would’ve been charged more than I’d want to pay in overdraft fees.

With Mobile Banking, not only can you check your account balance while waiting in line at a store, there are TONS of other things you can do as well, like:

  • View your transactions
  • Verify deposits and cleared checks
  • Pay bills
  • Transfer funds
  • Make a payment to a loan
  • Balance your checkbook (for that 21% of you, according to Statistic Brain, who still balance faithfully)

(These options may vary depending on your bank or credit union.)

And in case you were wondering, not only does Michigan First offer ALL of these conveniences, they also offer more!
