Cooking with the Crock Pot...

Hi Young & Free Michigan.

Recently my husband told me that he wanted me to learn how to cook. This is not offensive to me at all because, I know if i'm not making a salad or some tostadas, I'm not a very good cook. Also, last month my husband and I were eating out all the time! It was getting a little out of hand, so I took it upon myself to make some real food and save some real money!

I have been tracking all of my meals and trying to vlog as well for a compiled video at the end of the month!  But today I'm going to share with you about my new best friend in the kitchen.

I'd like to introduce you all to the almighty, ever forgiving, would make anything taste good, CROCK POT.

I got my crock pot for free in 2011 when I was a nanny, the family I worked for had an old crock pot that they never used. I have never used it till last week! What was I thinking?

Anyways, since my discovery of the wonderful crock pot it has forever changed my life. When I thought crock pot I would think stew, soup and stuff, but last week I used the crock pot and I made buffalo chicken wings and  shredded BBQ beef! Both dishes were super easy and amazingly delicious! My husband even enjoyed the food and that is a testimony! Y'all don't know, cooking meat has been a struggle for me for years.

The most exciting thing is that we are saving money! Both crock pot meals came to under $4 a serving. Instead of going out and paying about $14 for a meal at a restaurant, we ate some delicious meals in the comfort of our home for under $4! TALK ABOUT SAVINGS!

I plan on sharing the recipies I try with you on the blog and I also plan on tracking my grocery  spending to see how much we are really saving! Eating out is so easy and thoughtless... but making food at home is budget friendly and rewarding. My advice, get a crock pot.

Do you have a crock pot? What's your favorite recipe?
