Young & Free Michigan,
Have you ever had a week that felt like a month, and although you are sure you did get sleep, you don't remember getting any sleep. This has been one of those weeks. I'm sure you feel my pain, most of you just went through finals week! I hope all of your finals went well! I'm sure they were great.
So today, I have a few ways to cheer yourself up or get some extra energy when it feels like you have been running on a treadmill for three days.
1- Listen to music. I am currently listening to music to help me focus. Music helps to set a tone with your attitude, and it can be a great motivator. (I'm currently jamming out to Planet Shakers, The Anthem)
2-Drink. No, I'm not talking about that kind of drink. Im talking about water! We should all know by now that I love myself a good cup of coffee, and soda is yummy too. They are great pick me ups, however we need to make sure we are not getting dehydrated while working ourselves to the bone. Drink water, I am saying this again to remind myself, drink water.
3. Cat's know what's up. Cat naps, power naps, naps in your car on your lunch break can be life savers! When I feel overwhelmed most of the time I just need a nap. Sleep is good for you, so take the time to get some shut eye.
4. Do what makes you happy. It's so easy to get caught up in work, school, future, money, bills... AHH! But you must make some time to do something you love. Work to live, don't live to work! I love crafting and shopping (bargain shopping of course) and watching tv. I make sure I get to do something for fun every day! I'ma do me, ok!
5. LAUGH. Laughing is so important, so make sure you do it! I laugh a lot, and I laugh hard! Laughing will energize you like never before. When you feel like you are worn down, find something to laugh about or laugh at... maybe a picture of your family, a funny youtube video or pictures of really cute dogs. At least thats what I do!
Life does happen, and it's not always a piece of cake, but we can make the best of bad days, hard weeks or marathon months by remembering to take care of ourselves. Stay Young & Free! I have to remind myself to have fun sometimes and I have one of the most fun jobs in the world! If I have to remind myself, I'm sure you could use a reminder as well!
