Leadership

Today, Michigan First Credit Union had team building day. A time for team members to gather, learn more, develop more and get to know each other. I had a blast today. I really enjoy getting to meet other team members who I don't get to talk with on a day to day basis.

I love working at Michigan First, they truly have the team members best interests at heart and do some amazing things to keep us taken care of, and happy! Not too many places do that anymore, I'm sure a lot of you could testify to that. If I were to sum today up with one word it would be, leadership.

We had the privilege of having Steven Wiley from The Lincoln Leadership Institute at Gettysburg with us today. He gave an empowering speech about leadership. Specifically about being a great leader in whatever compacity we have at home and at work. I love that Steve told us to embrace our personality, but remember that we can and should stretch our style. Meaning, in order to be a good leader we need to not only understand our personality but we also need to understand how we come across to other people. Doing that will require us to stretch a little, maybe smile a little more and lead with vision instead of command.

So, I guess the point of today's blog is to remind you, Young & Free Michigan to look at every day with fresh eyes, never stop learning and remember that you have leadership influence no matter what title you do or don't have or what stage of life you are in. Remember there is a way out of every situation, but it might require a little more stretching than we are used to.

...Oh and also, Michigan First is one of the BEST places to work in Michigan! If you are looking for a job, check us out!

Keeping it Fresh, Young & Free,
