I’ve never woken up at 5:00 a.m. with a good attitude… just being real. But this past Sunday morning I was a new woman with little more umph than usual. I was going to be on live TV for the first time as Spokester!
On Saturday night, I got my clothes ready. I picked them out and ironed. In my life, that is unheard of. I packed 5 outfits for my overnight trip. Don’t judge me: 1) a main outfit 2) a backup outfit, 3) a backup for the backup, 4) an outfit to change for the road, 5) a wildcard outfit, just in case I needed it. Hey, I need options.
I say all of that to say, I was pumped. Really pumped. I arrived at the WZZM station at 6:15 a.m. and waited in the green room for about 30 minutes. They mic’d me up and it was on and poppin'. I was a broadcast journalism major in college, so being in the newsroom environment always gets me excited!
The segment turned out amazing. I gave tips to recent grads on what to do with your graduation money, and how to build great credit.
I was even able to hang out in Grand Rapids over the weekend! I went to breakfast at Grand Rapids staple breakfast spot called Woldgang’s Restaurant, and then to the Fulton Farmers Market, which had some very cool local art, food, and products. I'll be posting a vlog all about my free time there!
Can’t wait to spend some more time in Grand Rapids!
