So, as most of you know my husband and I moved this week and I am proud to say that today was our last day of moving. During this move we downsized and got rid of a lot of stuff. While packing we kept finding money on the floor! Pennies, quarters, and dimes were everywhere!
I also took a lot of clothes to plato's closet and was amazed at how much money I made! The point I am trying to make in today's blog is that, you might be surprised at how much money you have just laying around. Whether that be actual money, or stuff you don't really need. I believe everyone should do some spring cleaning to declutter and make some extra cash!
Although I love having tons of shoes to choose from, I don't need 3 pairs of the same kind of shoe, and neither do you. It's time to sell them, make room for more, or save that money for something thats more important than high heels, an emergency savings account.
Getting rid of all the extra stuff will make your life less stressful and can also help built your emergency savings account. Don't let money collect in your closet, or your floor, put that money in your savings account so you can be ready when emergencies hit.
Don't forget to set up direct deposit to your savings account! If you take advantage of that, you will be less tempted to spend that money you purposed to save.
P.S. Now I can take all of my spare change I found while cleaning and toss it in the free coin machine at Michigan First, and put it directly into my account! Michigan First rocks!
