Today I want to talk to you about change. Both the spare change in your pocket and the types of change you want to make in your life. How many times do we ignore the spare change that is in the bottom of our purse or the cup holder in our car? And how many goals do we set that we forget about?
I will be the first to admit that when I do, actually clean out my purses I find a crazy amount of spare change in them, maybe 2 or 3 dollars worth. When it comes to setting goals, I think I fail because my goals are sometimes a little drastic and possibly unreachable. So now that I have admitted to you that I normally ignore the spare change I have laying around and I set crazy, almost unrealistic goals for myself, it’s time to make a plan.
Here is what I am going to do, I will collect all of my spare change until I can fill a glass cup with it, then I will take it to Michigan First to deposit it into my savings account. I can use the awesome coin machine, which is free for members and will deposit the money directly to an account you select. I will set a smaller goal for myself and work hard to reach it. One of my goals this year was to drink more water. I have done that, however last month I realized I needed to be more specific with that goal in order to really make a change. So, I set a new goal, drink 1/2 gallon of water every day and no more soda pop. Have I reached that goal every day? No, but I have avoided soda pop for a solid 2 weeks, so that is a great change!
How much can you change? Don’t let your money, energy or health go to waste. Ignoring something doesn’t make it go away and it usually doesn’t help. Today, I encourage you to make change count. Collect your spare change and deposit it into your savings account. Set a new goal for yourself to benefit your health.
