If you’ve ever felt bad about eating chocolate, it’s about time you cut yourself some slack. Not only is chocolate too delicious to resist, chocolate has actually shown to be good for your health! (Chocolate in moderation, that is.)
There’s been tons of research done on just how good chocolate is for you and the benefits are almost unbelievable.
For starters, chocolate is good for your heart.
According to Woman’s Health Mag, a “long-term study in Germany this year found that about a square of dark chocolate a day lowered blood pressure and reduced risk of heart attack and stroke by 39 percent. Most of the credit goes to flavonoids, antioxidant compounds that increase the flexibility of veins and arteries.” And don’t worry guys; it is JUST as good for your heart too.
Believe or not, dark chocolate has the benefits of weight loss!
Studies have been done that show dark chocolate will make you crave less sugar and in return lead to weight loss! And get this: According to the Journal of Nutrition, chocolate has even been shown to PREVENT DIABETES!
On top of these benefits, eating chocolate has also been shown to relieve stress.
So it turns out all of that emotional eating might not be so bad after all. According to Psych Central, “eating about an ounce and a half of dark chocolate a day for two weeks reduced levels of stress hormones in the bodies of people feeling highly stressed.”
So my advice to you: go out there and get yourself a bar of chocolate. Not only will it be tasty, your body will give you a BIG (healthy) THANK YOU!
