Baseball on a Budget

America's pastime. I don't know what it is about baseball, but it just screams "summer." Lucky for us, we have a great Major League baseball team here in our Detroit Tigers, and a Minor League team not too far away in Toledo.

Baseball games are a fun and relatively cheap way to enjoy a summer evening. By visiting, you can get tickets to a Detroit Tigers game for as little as $3 -- and they're not always the crappy skyline seats, either. Right now, for instance, there's $5 seats in section 106 for tomorrow night's game with the Mets. If I wasn't so busy this week, I would totally go!
You might be thinking, "The food there is so expensive!" I sidestep this problem by stopping at 7-Eleven on the way downtown. While in the car, we drink a pop and eat a hot dog for roughly $3.50 apiece, as opposed to the $10 or so more we would pay at the ballpark.
Additionally, if you don't mind the walk, you can park for free at the MGM Grand Casino parking garage. Sure, it's a few blocks' walk, but you're saving that $10-$25 you'd pay on parking, and you're getting exercise! Win-win for America!
If you're a little closer to Toledo, check out a Toledo Mud Hens game. The Triple-A feeder team of the Tigers sometimes features big-time players if they're appearing in a rehab visit, plus it's cheaper than a Major League game!
So, if you're looking for a good old-fashioned "I Love America" evening, go to a baseball game! As a huge Tigers fan, I'm willing to give all sorts of advice, so hit me up if you need any!
Stay awesome!
