David's blog post:

Hello, my name is David McDonald. My interests include music, networking, and connecting with people in my community. I’ve never been the kind of person to back away from something because others thought it couldn’t be done. When I get behind something, whether it’s a project or cause, it’s because I believe that I have what it takes to make it reach new heights.

As the spokesperson for Young & Free Michigan, my top priority will be to make sure that 18-25 year olds are informed on how they can make the best possible decisions for their finances. But I want to offer more than just advice. In all of my endeavors I strive to be a voice for the people who want to be heard. When I started doing radio shows over three years ago, I never would have imagined that I’d find myself actively working to give dozens of local bands in my area on-air exposure for the first time through interviews and playing their music. But that’s exactly what happened and it has made my commitment to putting out the most engaging and professional product even stronger.

I’m a third generation member of Michigan First Credit Union; my grandmother was a member back when it was the Teacher’s Credit Union. My whole family does all of their banking there as well. The service that Michigan First gives to its customers is just beyond comparison to other banks. I want to get the word out to other young people that Michigan First is not only committed to keeping them informed on how to be wise with their money, but that they want input on how they might improve their services. I hope to have the opportunity to work with Michigan First to help prepare the Young & Free demographic to move forward and achieve great things.
