Dante's current situation:

I am a 23 year old trying to get into medical school and to fulfill one of my many life dreams, to become a pediatrician.

Dante's blog post:

The one main thing that really keeps me going in life is the hope that one day I can make a difference. I am sure that you may have heard this from many people, as I have, stating this while not knowing exactly what difference they would like to make. I, on the other hand, have thought this through for a long time.

My ultimate goal in life is to make some kind of change for orphaned children in the US; I have heard way too many horror stories involving orphaned or abandoned kids. I know that some of these stories may not be true or some a little exaggerated, but there are still other cases that are just as bad as or even worse than their false counterparts.

I remember watching Annie as a kid and hoping to have been as lucky as her, in the end at least. It wasn’t until later on in life that I realized I would rather be ‘Daddy Warbucks’ rather than Annie. It wasn’t due to the fact that he was wealthy, not that I would pass that up, it was because he gave her a better place to call home. That’s when I decided that I would like to create a place where many children can call home. I would like to be the guardian of many children. I would create a place where they would be able to grow up safely and with love. Some may think that my goal is to have a big family, but to me it is much more than that. I want to help some kids that may be denied opportunities just because they don’t have what everyone else has. I want to be able to give those kids the same opportunities, by giving them a chance to attend better schools, go summer camps, get involved with after school activities, and have a better quality of life. Most of these are not privileged to these children because they are fee based activities.

I know that this has nothing at all to do with the Y&F campaign, but I figured I’d let you guys know a little more about me and what I cared about. I have thought plenty about what I would do if I were chosen as the spokesman for the Young and Free campaign, and let me just say, I think it’ll be pretty awesome. Plenty of videos to keep you entertained, and a bombardment of: tweets, posts, blogs and the like. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me more.
