I believe something more people need to know about is how to obtain financial freedom. I believe that financial freedom is something that many people search for, but they can’t quite figure out how to obtain it. Most people, including myself were taught to go to school, get good grades, go to college and get a good job, then what? Most people have not been taught how money truly works and how to make your money work for you. Instead most people get caught in a vicious circle of going to work, getting a pay check and paying bills.

Many people are only one or two paychecks away from being homelessness yet, they make tons of money each month. The reason they are so close to becoming homeless is because they lack savings for an emergency. It’s not about the money you make, but about the money you are able to keep and save. People need to learn how to make their money work for them so they can end this cycle. If everyone learns how to properly manage their money and invest, they can live without fear of losing their job. I’m not saying that people shouldn’t work for a living because working at a place you love can be very fulfilling. I am saying that people should be able to support their families from their investments. I plan to go to college to study sport marketing.

I have been in the process of searching for scholarships to help pay for my college education. During this process, I discovered that you must be poor or extremely wealthy to pay for college. Poor people typically receive need based financial aid, including grant as well as scholarships, rich people can afford to pay the increasingly high tuition. It was during this time that I began thinking about how to afford college and what I need to do to be wealthy. I have been talking to my parents and others about money management and I plan to learn more about my personal finances so that I can be informed about my money. Investments involve risk, but with proper training and knowledge most people can learn to make and keep the money they earn, thereby becoming financially independent.
