As of this moment, I’m still not sure what the exact degree I plan on earning will be, or what field of study I plan on studying. I do, however, know that I am a STEM student. I’m an engineer, an astronomer, a physicist, a technician, and an electrician; even if not all at once. I love creating things, fixing things, and finding easier and simpler ways to accomplish tasks with the same quality.

I know that there is a high probability of me becoming many things that could benefit society around me. I could be an inventor creating new technologies that make processes or daily life easier. I could be an analyst or designer that can improve upon known designs and increase their efficiency, effectiveness, or find better ways to create them. I could be a technician that fixes broken or damaged things, or helps people with their difficulties. Among other things, if I do not actively do the improving myself, I am a wealth of knowledge with which I can mentor and teach others who could become the next great engineers, scientists, or inventors. I am senior student on my F.I.R.S.T. Robotics team and a tutor with National Honor Society, and in both I teach younger members or others about various subjects and skills in which I know well.

Michigan is already the center of the country’s leading engineering and technological programs, and the heart of the automotive industry. I know that I can, and likely will, put my skills to use to better the society and eventually the world around me, and when I do, it will all start in Michigan.
